Sales Engineer / Business Development
Department: Sales and Marketing
Reports to: Director of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service
Position Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Sales professional to drive revenue growth by combining deep technical knowledge of our products and applications with strong customer-facing sales skills. This role involves extensive travel (approximately 50–60%) to meet with customers, deliver product demonstrations, product training, support pre- and post-sales activities, and develop long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and manage new and existing customer accounts
- Travel regularly to customer sites for sales meetings, product demonstrations, technical presentations, and relationship building
- Understand customer technical requirements and recommend appropriate solutions
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and customer support teams to develop tailored solutions
- Prepare and deliver technical proposals, quotations, and sales presentations
- Manage the full sales cycle, from lead qualification through contract negotiation and closing
- Provide market feedback on customer needs, competitive activity, and industry trends
- Support installations, commissioning, and post-sale technical support as required
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, forecasts, and customer interactions in CRM systems
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events
- This position requires travel throughout the U.S and Canada
- Maintain solid business hours and availability to the organization
Minimum Experience Requirements:
- 5-7 years technical field sales experience
- Experience selling market specific products/solutions—e.g., control systems and components, industrial, material handling and or mobile hydraulic equipment markets
- Experience working with CRM tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar
- Prior experience supporting customers in a field-based role

Education Requirements:
- 4 year Business degree or equivalent experience with technical aptitude
- 2 year technical degree with sales and marketing experience
- 5-7 years technical sales experience
